Abstract

|
|
The ejection fraction was measured in 9 patients undergoing spinal anesthesia by nuclear stethoscope.
Before, and 5min., 10min. and 15min. after spinal anesthesia, the study was performed. Tc-99m DTPA was injected intravenovenously in each patients.
Time-activity curves were generated, and the ejection fraction was calculated from sequential enddiastolic and end-systolic count rates.
The following results were obtained.
1. Vital signs including B. P. and pulse rate were stable throughout the procedures.
2. Ejection fraction was decreased significantly (p<0.05) 15min. after spinal anesthesia.
